The museum is settled in the rooms of the former Maggiore Monastery. It homes prehistorical, Hellenic, Etrusian, and Roman relics primarily recovered from the Milano underground during the excavations for the metro line. Of special interest is the antiquate tract of Roman wall raised by the Emperor Massimiano Erculeo in 236-305 D.C. In the centered entry to the religious residence is the “Masso di Borno”, a big stone recovered in Val Camonica with sculptures that date from to 3 millennium A.C. There is a bookstore and a library, and museum publications are available to visitants. Admittance is free. Guided on tours.
